Sion Mining is an exploration company looking to develop DRC's vast mineral resources. Sion Mining is developing a diversified portfolio of Mineral exploration assets in the following mineral sectors:

  • Diamonds,
  • Gold,
  • Copper,
  • Cobalt,
  • Nickel,
  • Base metal,
  • Tantalite,
  • Iron ore.


  • Sion Mining strategy is:

  • To develop, through partnerships, strong capabilities in the areas of exploration target generation-yielding exploration targets with high success rates for mineralization,- exploration programme management-able to determine levels of mineralization and reserves as accurately as possible with as little cash as possible and-corporate finance capabilities for sourcing capital for exploration projects

  • To develop relationship with potential off-takers that can provide affordable financing for Sion Mining's exploration programmes.

  • To entrech existing relationships with the regulatory authorities and develop distinct capabilities in sourcing new projects once identified to be prospective.



  • To this end Sion Mining has entered into importants agreements:

  • VML Resources limited specialized Mineral Exploration company with specialized target generation capabilities, strong relationship with the global funding communities and exploration programme management capabilities. VML's geologists bring a combined 90 years of experience in mineral exploration in the world, spanning Africa, South America, Asia ( China and India) among others. They are credited with several very notable discoveries in gold, uranium and base metal.

  • Sion Mining is currently in the process of identifying not less than ten targets for the above minerals and expects to have  a full exploration programme up and running by the end of 2008.
